Now that the 30 days are over, it was time to analyze the data. I'm a nerd, what can I say?
After entering short summaries into a spreadsheet, here's what I learned: Two of my happiest moments involved music playing in the car. Two involved being sufficiently warm (it's effing cold this time of year in Wisconsin). Eight involved in-person interactions with other human beings (two with friends, three with the boyfriend, three with coworkers/other folks). Two involved writing, which is interesting as I only wrote (for fun) during two days this month. I guess this shows I should probably buckle down and actually write some shit. Two involved storytelling/performance projects (once as storyteller and once as listener). One involved remembering to bring canvas bags to the grocery store.
I lumped the moments into eight categories and made a colorful pie chart for you:
I bet if I kept a happiness jar in the summer I would have a different mix of categories. There would be more relating to the outdoors, for sure.
